Flora

  • Spayed Female

  • 2-3 years old

  • Former Community Cat

  • Shy, but sweet

  • Does very well with other cats

Flora came to us from Jefferson Hills, where she had been living as a community cat. She was one of the very last cats in her colony to be fixed, having eluded our traps for over a year. In May of 2025, she found a disused cooler and gave birth to this litter of kittens inside. This finally gave us the opportunity to use her kittens to help lure her into our humane traps. After many months of futile attempts, we were at last able to catch Flora.

This beautiful girl was such a devoted mama that she was trapped within moments of hearing her babies. Her kittens—Iris (grey tabby), Marigold (brown tabby), Lupin (black), and Daisy (tuxedo)—have all since been adopted into loving homes. Prior to her spay, and right after her babies were weaned, Flora even helped raise two litters of orphaned kittens and an orphaned opossum. This mama truly did so much for so many little ones.

Now that she is fixed, she’s ready to ease into retirement. She will need a very patient adopter who can provide a quiet environment and give Flora plenty of grace as she learns to trust her new surroundings.
